A workspace owner or admin opens Settings, Integrations, HueChat MCP and turns on AI clients for the workspace.

Add the HueChat server URL to your AI app, sign in with HueChat and choose the workspace and permissions.

SET UP

Add HueChat to your AI app

Every app uses the same server URL. Apps that support sign-in use OAuth: you sign in on HueChat's own page, so you never paste a password or key into a chat.

Open Settings, then Connectors, and select Add custom connector.

Name it HueChat and paste the server URL.

Select Connect, sign in to HueChat and approve the connection.

On Claude team plans, an organization owner may need to add the connector first.

Developer tools and automations

Command-line tools, code editors and workflow builders connect the same way. Use OAuth sign-in when the tool supports it, or a scoped MCP key from the API keys tab.

Add HueChat in your terminal, then run /mcp in Claude Code, choose huechat and select Authenticate.

Sending stays off until you allow it
A read-only connection never gains sending access by itself. Replies, templates and broadcasts each need their own permission.
Channel rules still apply
WhatsApp's 24-hour window, approved templates and customer consent still apply. Instagram and Messenger need a new customer message after their window closes.
Disconnect at any time
See every connection, its permissions and its activity in Settings. Revoking a connection stops its future access.

Which AI apps can connect to HueChat?

Apps that support remote MCP servers over HTTP, including Claude, ChatGPT and Grok, and developer tools such as Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor and n8n. Apps with sign-in use OAuth. Tools that need a fixed key can use a scoped MCP key instead.

Do I need to wait for HueChat to appear in my AI app's directory?

No. You can add HueChat yourself with the server URL. When your AI app offers a directory listing, it connects to the same server with the same permissions.

Can the AI app message my customers by itself?

Only if you allow sending for that connection. You choose whether each message is confirmed in the AI app, reviewed by your team in HueChat or sent right away. Scheduling a broadcast always needs confirmation.

What can the AI app see?

Only what HueChat tools return for the permissions you granted, such as contacts, conversations, templates and reports. Choose the smallest set that does the job. Our privacy policy explains how connected AI apps handle data.

How do I remove access?

Open Settings, Integrations, HueChat MCP and disconnect the app, or remove the connector in the AI app. Disconnecting stops future access. It does not delete copies the AI app already kept, so ask its provider to remove those.

Which plan do I need?

AI clients (MCP) are part of the Enterprise plan, and a workspace owner or admin makes the connection. Your AI app subscription is separate, and some AI apps let only an organization admin add custom connectors.
